Ryoko, a pirate and Ayeka, a princess are in a secret relationship. Ryoko got close to Ayeka to complete her mission but she fell in love with her. Ayeka was destined to marry her brother Azaka so when Sasami found out that Ayeka was with someone, she told Azaka about it.
The story is a bit confusing. Ayeka asked Ryoko to take her away but I don't think she did. In the end, Ryoko thought,
"I've been looking for you extremely...I have, even after 700 years...I have been thinking of you...Surely, we will meet again...to finish that unfinished promise."
